Slow Food envisions a world in which all people can eat food that is good for them, good for the people who grow it and good for the planet.
Knowing where your food comes from and even knowing your farmer is a big step forward in establishing a better relationship with what you eat. We are fortunate in central Wisconsin to have an abundance of local farmers and growers to provide access to great food year around.
Many people understand the concept of eating local, but how about drinking local? Is that something new? Perhaps it is time to begin thinking about what we drink and where it comes from. We encourage you to start thinking and drinking local.
Slow Food Marathon County exists to promote food that is good, clean and fair. And underlying that concept is the encouragement to live well. Living well means thinking about what you are doing and how it will affect you, others around you and the planet we live on. It is all a great balance but one we should engage in every day. Everything matters!
