Beginnings

Slow Food Marathon County was co-founded in 2012 by a flower shop entrepreneur and a veterinarian-turned-gentlewoman pig farmer. They teamed up with a cardiac surgeon to organize a local Slow Food Chapter to serve the Wausau-area community. From that humble beginning, Slow Food Marathon County has grown to include over 400 "interested" people who follow us on Facebook, volunteer for activities and events and enjoy food that is good, clean and fair. As part of Slow Food USA, we are over 100,000 strong.
