Please join us on March 2 for our next Slow Film: FRESH, which we are showing in celebration of National CSA Signup Day and the farmers who are re-inventing our food system.
FRESH portrays a movement that is happening in America and worldwide. The alternative food market is the fastest growing market in the United States, even though it still makes up a minuscule percentage of the food economy. And it’s incredibly energetic. FRESH focuses on sustainable agriculture and depicts farmers, activists and entrepreneurs who are searching for efficient ways to produce healthy fresh organic food.
Prior to the film, Slow Food will host a CSA Fair with local farms who will be sharing information on their CSA Programs. Visit with Stoney Acres farm, Red Door Family Farm, Lonely Oak Farm, Whitefeather Organics and ask any questions you might have about sourcing local seasonal products directly from them, which also greatly supports their business!
A potluck dinner will start at 6:30 PM and everyone is invited to bring a dish to share. BYOB, wine and beer allowed.
Cost for the evening is a $5 donation to cover the screening license fee
and free for children and students
RSVPs are required!
